Hike Fuya - Fuya 3.700mts 1D
Fuya Fuya is part of Mojanda an inactive volcano of the Western Cordillera of the Andes in northern Ecuador it is located 85 Km north of Quito and 17 Km south of the indigenous town of Otavalo. Fuya Fuya partially collapsed around 165, 00 years ago, creating a large caldera to the west. This is a great mountain to star acclimatization process if you are planning to climb high snow pick volcanoes or if you are a nature lover and just want to enjoy a wonderful day outdoors.
We will depart Early in the morning. Hike to the summit will take approximately 4 hours. Our Starting point 3.700mts and we will go up to 4.220mts. Our first stop will be Caricocha lake then we will continue hiking around the other 2 lakes of volcanic origin Huarmicocha and Yanacocha 3,700mt enjoying a spectacular view of these three lakes. On a clear day we can enjoy the view of the snow picks: Cotapaxi, Cayambe and Antisana, the craters of Cotacachi and Imbabura, and we will be able to spot Quito and Otavalo. Lunch on the way and return to Quito in the afternoon.
