Cotopaxi is one of the highest and perfect shaped volcanoes in Ecuador. Technically, it is not a difficult mountain to climb but due to its height, it is necessary for the previous acclimatization. The real difficulty in reaching this beautiful summit is altitude. From the summit, we will have some spectacular views of its surrounding snow-capped peaks.

Day 1: Quito – Cotopaxi - Refuge 4.800mts
10:00 a.m depart from Quito heading south towards the National Park, continue to the parking area below the refuge. Hiking to the refuge takes about 45 minutes. After lunch basic climbing techniques briefing outside the refuge, dinner and rest.

Day 2: Cotopaxi Summit 5.893mts
Breakfast before midnight and depart to the summit following the normal route. Reaching the summit would take us 6 to 7 hours, with good weather as the sunrises we should be able to enjoy some exceptional views. Return to refuge 2 hrs +- then to the parking lot and transfer to Quito.

Includes
Basic climbing equipment: Climbing boots crampons, harness, ice ax, mittens, private transportation (4X4), park fees, and certified guides: one for every two clients, mountain meals: 1 dinner, 1 breakfast, tee coffee, rest at the refuge.

Not included
Travel & health insurance, personal equipment: Climbing boots, rain jacket, sleeping bag, warm clothes, gloves, meals not mentioned, personal expenses, tips, and beverages.

What to bring
Backpack, warm and rain clothes, trek shoes, 2 to 3 pairs of socks, hat or cap, gloves, a flashlight (torch) with spare batteries, sunglasses with a strap, sunblock, camera.
