COTOPAXI BIKING & CLIMBING 3D

Coto bik

Cotopaxi National Park is a protected area going from an altitude of 3.200mts up to almost 6.000mts. Due to its near perfect conical shape, Cotopaxi is Ecuador's most famous volcano. We suggest this 3-day program to provide a better opportunity to reach the summit. The first day is biking inside the National Pak, the second day staying at the refuge and safety briefing techniques, the third day climbing to the summit.

Day 01.- Quito – Cotopaxi National Park - Biking
Transfer to El Pedregal north entrance 3.600mts. After a short briefing about basic techniques, we will start cycling for 3 to 4 hours. Overnight and dinner at La Rinconada 3.800mts. (Lunch/Dinner/Refuge)

Day 02.- Rinconada – Refuge - Briefing
After breakfast, a car drives to the parking area. Hike to the hut 45 minutes +-. Rest at the refuge, latter on, basic climbing techniques briefing outside the refuge. Dinner and rest. (Breakfast/Dinner/Refuge)

Day 03. – Climbing to Cotopaxi Summit 5.897mts.
After breakfast before midnight, we will depart to the summit following the normal route. We expect to arrive within 7-8 hours. On the way with good weather, we can observe Chimborazo snow pick. On the summit, we will enjoy a wonderful view of the crater of this impressive volcano. We descend to the refuge and then to the parking lot. Return to Quito (breakfast/Transfer to Quito)
