DAILY PROGRAMS
Ecuador is a small hidden paradise that has four natural regions: Costa, Sierra, Orient and the Galapagos Islands; four regions full of spectacular places to discover. Because we are located in the capital, we have organized one-day programs to the closest and most touristy places near Quito. In our daily programs we will visit the wonderful wet forest north of the capital. The following are daily programs organized according to the attractions available on the day of visit. As we mentioned, these are spectacular places and we will make sure you get the best of them.
Cotopaxi: National Park is a protected area from a height of 3.200mts to 5.897mts. It is one of the highest active volcanoes in the world, it’s almost perfect conical shape is well known internationally and it is one of the most famous mountains of Ecuador. On the way we will observe the Avenue of the Volcanoes, enjoying wonderful views of some of the snowy peaks nearby, such as: Pasochoa, Rumiñahui, Illinizas North and South, etc.
Mindo Cloud Forest: Mindo is located 2 hours North on Quito. It has a high biodiversity of flora and fauna thanks to the various altitudinal floors, varied microclimates, influence of the Choco mountain range and that is why we have an incredible variety; more than 500 species of birds, 400 species of orchids, reptiles, amphibians, insects, mammals and much more.
Mindo is an excellent area for outdoors lovers, they can enjoy a great variety of activities such as: bird watching, trekking and camping, visits to orchid aria and butterfly farms and horseback riding as well as rappelling, cannoning down waterfalls and tubing.
Otavalo is located north of Quito 2,250mts is the place of origin of the Quichua people of the Otavalos, famous for their textile and commercial skills, characteristics that have given rise to the largest indigenous handicraft market in South America, called "La Plaza de Ponchos" .
We will head north passing through Guayllabamba valley. Our last stop will be Quitsato The Ecuadorian Line in Cayambe where we can taste the town´s famous local biscuits (biscochos). After lunch we'll drive to Cotacachi a famous town for its leather goods. We will visit the beautiful Cuicocha Lake located inside a crater containing two green beautiful islands.
Papallacta Thermal Springs Resort 3320mts features several hot thermal spring pools of different sizes and temperatures. Located over 10,000 feet above sea level in the wet forest, Papallacta is just two hours away from Quito. Resort facilities include a first-class hotel and a restaurant offering local and international cuisine with its main specialty: fresh trout.
Papallacta is nestled high in the Andean Cordillera at the entrance of the Amazon jungle. On the way you’ll enjoy the amazing landscape a paradise for nature lovers, active outdoor enthusiasts, photographers and naturalists.
Quilotoa Lake is one of the places you should visit in Ecuador. The crater's lagoon is beautiful, you have to descend to get there, once there you can go kayaking if you wish. The hike down to the Lagoon takes (+-) 50 minutes. Here we will be rewarded with some beautiful views of the Lake and admire its changing colors and visit an Indian community.
On our way to Quilotoa our first stop will be to visit one of the indigenous markets; Pujili or Saquisili.
