Cuicocha is a young volcano that started its activity 4. 500 years ago. This intense activity continued until about 1.300 years ago. It is located on the slopes of Cotacachi and it is known by the indigenous as "Maria Isabel de las Nieves" or "Mama Cotacachi." This magical Lake is also known as "Lake of the Gods" and has an altitude of 3.064mt.

Early in the morning transfer to Otavalo city towards Cuicocha Lake, on the way, we will pass by Indian villages and enjoy a beautiful view of San Pablo Lake and Peguche's Waterfall. Car drive will end at a height of 3.100mts where we will start our hike. Walking around the edge of the crater will take us approximately 4 ½ hours reaching a height of 3.500mts. We will end our walk at the same place where we started. Lunch and return to Quito in the afternoon.
