COTOPAXI NATIONAL PARK 4.600MTS
Cotopaxi National Park is a protected area from a height of 3.200mts to 5.897mts, has four climatic zones: Andean forest, wilderness, altiplano, and Glazier. Cotopaxi is one of the highest and most famous mountains of Ecuador, Cotopaxi’s almost perfect conical shape is well known throughout the world.
We leave the hotel after breakfast. As we head south on the Pan American we will observe the Avenue of the Volcanoes, enjoying a wonderful view of some of the snowy peaks nearby, such as Pasochoa, Rumiñahui, North, and South Illinizas, etc. The estimated time to reach the Cotopaxi National Park drive is 1:30 minutes60km. In the park we can observe the wildlife, we stop at the Museum for a short visit, then continue to the parking lot, go for a short walk to the refuge José Ribas for about 45 minutes. At the shelter, we will rest and then return to the parking lot where we take the bikes and descend to Limpiopungo. Short walk and pictures at the lagoon. In the afternoon return to Quito.
